What are the common drill bit faults

There are several common faults that drill bits may encounter:

  1. Drill bit wear:

During the drilling process, the drill bit will be subjected to rock wear, resulting in a smaller diameter of the drill bit, slower drilling speed, and even inability to drill.

  2. Drill bit damage:

During the drilling process, the drill bit may encounter hard rocks or obstacles, causing damage to the drill bit, such as breakage of the drill bit, tooth damage, etc.

  3.  Drill bit jamming:

During the drilling process, the drill bit may get stuck in the wellbore or rock, causing it to be unable to drill.

  4. Drill bit detachment:

During the drilling process, the drill bit may fall off due to poor connection or other reasons, resulting in drilling interruption.

  5. Drill bit overheating:

During the drilling process, the drill bit may overheat due to too fast drilling speed or too long drilling time, affecting the service life of the drill bit.

  6. Bit blockage:

During the drilling process, the bit may be blocked due to foreign objects in the well or collapse of the wellbore wall, which can affect drilling efficiency.
